The Smartphone developer I-mate has introduced the Momento wireless digital picture frame enhanced and certified for Windows Vista featuring support for Microsoft Windows SideShow, the technology that allows external devices to display information from your pc. You can stream your digital picture from PCs, play directly from a digital camera's memory card or transfer photos via USB, and send pics to it via Wi-Fi (TCP/IP).

This device can also act as a secondary display for Vista Sideshow's platform. Also Users can communicate directly to the Momento device through e Momento Live Service www.momentolive.com. Priced at $40 a year, this online service is allowing to upload digital pictures from anywhere in the world and then transferred instantly to the Momento device.

Personally, I think the most interesting and currios undocumented feature for the Momento is the support for Windows Sideshow. With the Vista Sideshow feature the new photoframe can get a real functional value here, users being able to run sideshow gadgets such as emails and instant message alerts, stock quotes, weather and meeting schedules. This vista sideshow compatible device has a built-in RSS viewer, displaying useful information from your pc. As for the design of the device, The i-mate Momento is available in 10.2-inch and 7-inch sizes both with an 800x480 a resolution display and supports wireless LAN (802.1 1 | b/g), SD, MMC, xD, SmartMedia, Memory Stick and USB card. It also supports MP3 and WMA playback, Audio Out, Clock, Calendar mode and comes bundled with a RF remote control,removable mattes and frames.

Priced at US$200 and $300 the 10" version this is a little to expensive, but i have to admit is a interesting offer considering the features and the fact is the one of the first photoframe with SideShow integration available.
