NET Micro Framework SideShow demo application
Posted by dragos on 02-21-2007 in Writing Gadgets
From this point of view, .NET Micro Framework enables hardware developers to easily design new applications for Windows SideShow displays and small, resource-constrained devices. Many devices are built on the .NET Micro Framework to provide development support of the small embedded applications: The SPOT watches (Smart Personal Object Technologies), and the Windows SideShow-compatible devices for Windows Vista Laptops are two examples of devices based on the .NET Micro Framework. Together Windows SideShow and .NET Micro Framework provide users with reminders, e-mail, contacts, photos, music and more at their fingertips. So, we’ve got the devices, vista Sideshow Support and now .NET Micro Framework. But how this two major components interacts! I found this interesting video that shows how easy it is to write .NET Micro Framework applications for a Freescale Reference Board. Read the fuil story here
I will remind you that Freescale introduced a development kit for the .NET Micro Framework to allow customers to deliver differentiated solutions in the marketplace with ARM9 performance at very low power. Brad Hale, manager of product management for Freescale’s multimedia applications division explain: “Our expectations for .NET Micro Framework are high, so we continue to add features to enable OEMs, ODMs and others to create a new class of smaller, cost-efficient devices, or add Windows SideShow™ connected wirelessly to existing consumer devices,” . Watching how easy you can write a small game in an hour from scratch on any platform. Coding4Fun has come up with interesting demo applications, programmable hardware and gadgets you could create. This reference shows developers how to use small devices with .net MIcro Framework. Check out the Holiday Gift Guide 2006. I wonder what other interesting Vista SideShow applications you could create . |
