Sideshow devices find way in GPS equipment

Microsoft recently introduced its first-ever embedded OS for portable devices that use GPS (global positioning system) to get people where they want to go. The sysetm is connected to the Internet, thus able to provide real time updates, maps and traffic conditions. The aim of the new OS is to enhance such portable navigation devices by adding new features such as Internet connectivity and services. However, the most interesting aspect of this type of devices is the fact that OS also allows PNDs to be used as secondary display screens for a variety mobile PCs using the Windows Vista OS. Users may be able to connect their PND to their laptop and access information from the device, without having to boot-up. Such devices will be 'discovered' by the Vista Operating system (or as a matter of fact Windows 7) via means of network connectivity or Bluetooth links. Cool!
